
Doug has obtained specialized clinical training in the McKenzie Approach, Paris Methodology, Active Release Technique (ART), Institute of Physical Art (IPA) and Dry Needling. With over 15 years of experience, Doug has been able to blend and integrate these approaches in-order to maximize their therapeutic benefit.
Doug's advanced knowledge in biomechanics has helped him achieve two advanced certifications from the Titleist Performance Institute. Doug is currently a Titleist Certified Level 2 Medical Professional as well as a Titleist Certified Golf Fitness Instructor. These certifications will enable him to utilize his expertise in biomechanics to assess and treat joint, soft tissue, muscle imbalance and movement impairment syndromes which may be limiting the golfers ability to swing efficiently. Doug has received an advanced specialization from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Sports Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM-PES). He is committed to optimizing athletic performance and reducing the potential for injury through comprehensive training programs. Doug has also received an advanced certification from the Kinesio Taping Association of America as a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP). The certification program he completed is designed to enhance his ability to provide health care treatments effectively and efficiently to his patients through one of the most effective non-invasive soft tissue treatments in use today. It is a completely new approach to treating nerve, muscle, and joint dysfunction. Kinesio tape allows for freedom of body movement which leads to improved muscle function and decreased pain.
Related to Doug's interest in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, he has been coaching/training soccer players on Long Island for over 20 years. Doug has successfully completed his Advanced National Diploma, National Diploma, & Regional Diploma soccer coaching licenses from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Doug is devoted to player education and development on and off of the field of play.
Doug’s passion for anatomy and fascination with human movement fuel his desire to learn and makes him an invaluable source of information to his colleagues and clients. Doug is motivated and enthusiastic about what he does and he brings these qualities into every treatment session. Above all, Doug’s greatest accomplishment is his family. When he is not working, Doug is passionate about spending time with his beautiful wife and three children.
